Great Portrait Photography Locations in South London

I’m actually a South London Photographer myself so am always scouting around for new and interesting locations for portrait photography. South London is actually more divers than people think. In terms of portrait photography in South London you can offer photographic headshots for actors, corporate headshots, family portraits and modelling shoots. You have natural beauty in the parks as well as edgey urban scenes.

PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY IN BRIXTON

Brixton has it all – the rough looking streets for strong urban portrait photography, interesting street art, Brixton Market and Brockwell park for portrait photography in a natural setting.

Here is the lovely Brockwell Park above for natural portrait photography.

Here’s the Brixton street market. You can get some interesting portrait photography here.

And finally you have the legendary Brixton Academy. Not the best place for portrait photography but I have used it on occassions and had some excellent photos as a finished product.

So as a photographer in South London you have a lot of choice.

PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY IN CLAPHAM

Now I find Clapham a lot more limited in terms of choice for great portrait photography locations as it’s not the most diverse or interesting place in terms of architecture or character. It does however have Clapham Common which is a great place for family portraits and family photography. As a South London photographer it isn’t my first choice BUT I have done many photo shoots here. The band stand is a great place if it’s raining (the last thing you want is for your photography kit to get wet) plus it provides shelter from the harsh sun if it’s an overly bright sunny day.
